Are you the parent of a young child aged newborn through kindergarten? Then Strongsville Early Childhood PTA (SECPTA) is for you! SECPTA (formerly the Strongsville Preschool PTA) is a non-profit organization that provides a variety of activities for its 150+ member families that are supportive, social, informative, and fun. Membership includes activities such as local children's outings & activities, play groups, crafts, story times, educational events, theme parties, and social events for moms, dads and couples, plus national PTA membership benefits.

SECPTA is a local unit of the Strongsville PTA Council, and Ohio PTA and National PTA. We are not affiliated with any specific preschool or day care facility. SECPTA is open to all local community members with young children. We welcome families of any race, color, national or ethnic origin.

General meetings are held at from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on the third Tuesday of the month at the High School Media Center (map) NOTE LOCATION CHANGE. The doors open at 6:30 for sign-ups, business is conducted at 7:00 PM, and is usually followed by a speaker or special theme event from 8:00 - 9:00 PM. Members often go out afterwards to socialize. Refreshments are served and all are invited to attend; young children are welcome. The SECPTA Board meetings are held monthly at the Strongsville Library (map).

Strongsville Early Childhood PTA shares the objectives of the National PTA and Ohio PTA. These objectives are:
  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
